My kiddo turns FOUR today! | San Diego Family & Lifestyle Photographer

I simply can’t believe that my little guy turns FOUR today!! He has brought so much joy to my life, I can’t even put it into words. One of the coolest things about becoming a mom four years ago is that even though I had already been a family and child photographer for almost a decade at that point, I got a glimpse into a whollllllle new side of things. I know now what families go through to prepare for their photo shoots, I know the pressure they feel to get “just a few” good shots. I also know that those little “imperfect” moments where kids are smirking at the camera or goofing around… those are the REAL moments. That’s where the LIFE is.

I’ll be honest, I don’t always have a blast photographing my own kids. I’ll be the first to say I’m the most patient person… with OTHER people’s kids. But when it comes to my own, it’s a different story. I went into this session calm, just the two of us, and promised some adventures. And man oh man it was the right strategy for my favorite guy.
